A fellow cancer HATER and his perspective on the Benefit.

Thank you!

Our event was a HUGE success! We definetly rocked. Andy and I met our $4K fundraising goal, which is pretty sweet.

We must thank all our sponosors, donors and the bands  as well as the people who came out and supported us.  We had a great time and hope everyone did too.

Andy and I offically beat our $10K goal for the season and plan to hold one more event after the marathon. Stay tuned for more info.

It’s Today, really?

Yes, it is today. Today is the Rock N’ Run Benefit Event Andy and I planned for nearly three months. Last night we put together the donor and sponsor backdrop for the photos. It looks awesome. We starting pulling together some of the details last night and prepping stuff for tonight.

I am SO excited. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone. I want to thank everyone who had a part in this for their help and support. Tonight will be killer.

Stay tuned.

One day to go…

Hi there,

One might perceive the lack of updates as a time of lethargy and leisure. Do not be fooled. Andy and I are super busy. Between getting in two 8+ mile runs a week plus 2 shorter ones, longer ones on the weekends, planning and coordinating for the benefit show (see below for what all our hard work’s done), stints in Austin at SXSW, eBay projects at work, healing injuries and house hunting–it’s been quite a month!

The cool news: Check out the Boston Phoenix for our event in the 8 Days a Week (best upcoming events) and a tiny blurb on top of page 12 today in the Boston Metro. We also had an article last Friday in the Boston Globe (He’s Rocking and Running for a Cause–in which I was strategically cropped out, but I understand the journalistic integrity of not diluting the story w/ my picture 🙂 ).

Tomorrow is going to be awesome. Andy and I worked our butts off. Almost literally. We followed up with numerous media people and donors to the point of the most sincere and kindest harassment. Thank you!

This event is huge for Andy and I. The support of the community and friends and family is amazing. We’re truly excited about goal of raising $4K tomorrow. We think it’s possible. We have a great list of prizes and an awesome line up of musicians.

I’m particularly excited because Jack Fultz (the 1976 Boston Marathon champ and our coach) bought tickets to our event today! We’ll have two awesome athletes at our show (Lyndon Byers (LB) from the Bruins will also be making an appearance).  It’s surly to be a night to “rock your socks off”–lame, so what?

It’s less than 4 weeks to the marathon. Andy and I are almost at our $10K goal. I”m about $700 shy of my $5K goal. The benefit show is sure to make meeting that goal a reality.

Again, one final thanks to all our sponsors and a special thanks to: PUMA(‘s been super cool), Sam Adams (HOOKED us up) and Lauren and her mom for pulling together gift baskets!

If you can’t make it, we’ll let you know how it goes.

Check us out!

WBCN’s Boston Emissions with Anngelle was awesome to have us on Sunday night. We chatted about the benefit, the cause and all the great prizes!

Look for a column on Saturday in the Boston Globe. We had a mini-photo shoot last Saturday while we were on our 18 mile run. The article should be in the music/arts section 🙂

If you happen to browse through the Improper Bostonian this week you’ll find our Rock N’ Run Benefit in the calendar listing.

We’re pumped for the event–we need your support make it a success! Check out the Rockin’ Tab on the top of the page for more details about the event.

That’s it for now.

Dellaria Salons

More prize additions! Dellaria Salons is donating a free cut and style in Kenmore. If you win, ask for Albert. He’s my true hair soulmate.

Puma will be part of the Rock N’ Run Event–AWESOME.

They are donating two pairs of kick-ass shoes to Andy and me and TWO pairs as prizes.

Thanks Paul 🙂

Thanks Chante!

This was a very nice email to get.  A friend of the band “Build a Machine”, who’s playing the benefit show, contacted us out of the blue and offered to help us with our benefit event and fundraising.

She has offered to head around to local businesses and ask them if they’d like to donate products, services, or gift certificates to the events prizes.  She’s also offered to post a note at work asking her co-workers to donate to our cause.

It’s nice to know there are so many good people out there willing to help.

Thanks Chante!

A cool 16

Andy and I ran 16 miles on Saturday! It was a trying run through the hills on the marathon course. Heartbreak hill sure feels bad at mile 11. Can’t wait to see how it feels at mile 20. We did the run at our usual pace–10 minute miles. Which, I think in this case is pretty good. By the end of the run, we were praying for downhills and gatorade.

Andy did an awesome job 🙂 Next weekend we do 18.

That’s it for now. Back to work and watching the dying blizzard outside.
